Livin' A Dream Life

Would you like to live your life in Alaska, or even work there and have fun doing it? Few people get the oppurtunity to live their entire life in Alaska. Jody Young gets to do that as she works in Alaska and has the best experiences that she can have, just doing her job.
Jody grew up in Oshkosh, Ohio. Her first career that she had was a chef. When she wasn’t cooking she would hike, backpack, and play. In the future she decided to stop her passion for cooking and begin another passion she had growing up: the great outdoors. Up to today, now 46 years old, Jody is a guide for many companies in Alaska as she leads adventure camping tours. She takes people that live in the city and reintroduces them to childhood as either a stress reliever, or reconnects them to their planet. She says we should get more involved with it because it is here and because it is tangible, so why not do these things that Jody is trying to get people to do. She takes out people into the backwoods age ranging between children as low as two years old to senior citizens that are ninety years old.
Jody has had many hiking experiences herself. She has not yet summited Mt. Mckinley, but she has been on it. She has had a few successful climbs in her life though. She has summited Mt. Whitney, which is the highest mountain top in the lower fourty-eight states soaring at 14,496 feet which is an climb that some people train for years in order to accomplish. When Jody was asked what was the most interesting thing she has ever done she answered, “It is what I do.” I truly believe that she is answering the question truthfully because she gets the oppurtunities to climb, hike, and kayak as her job while some people are doing this stuff for a getaway vacation. Jody has propably had a lots of little regrets in her life, but she explained that she wouldn’t change anything that has happened in her life except for taking even more chances than she has already taken in her life because for her entire life, she has folllowed her heart and she claims that she still will continue to follow her heart. She says it seems she still fells she has her whole life ahead of her and she still feels like a child. She thinks that we are fortunate to be living at the time that we are living: a time of oppurtunities that other people in the past history haven’t had. Oppurtunities to see things, meet people, and go places that past generations have not had before, and that today’s generation should make critical changes for the generations that we have coming up ahead of us. Jody takes the time everywhere that she goes to look at everything and see on the beautiful world with her own eyes like what things are, such as they are there, what they are in relation to, and how it works. She was looking at a wildflowers book on the top of Mt. Healy studying the ground.
Jody gets the experiences of a lifetime doing her job, whereas some people do the same thing to get away from home and to go on a vacation. She is doing something every day that some people to on vacations to get away from home. Jody Young is definently living the Alaskan dream
