Alaska Is:
Alaska is an unforgettable experience…it’s so unbelievably different from Michigan. The transition from Michigan to Alaska is such a shock but is one of the best feelings ever. The scenery, the feelings, and the whole project are to die for.

Final Reflection:
At the beginning of the trip it was hard for me to adjust and I thought I wouldn’t be able to make it. But little did I know that that would soon come to an end. With the help of my friends and some other participants that would later become my friends, I got through it. We were all like a family and that’s how it always was, that’s what makes it so hard to leave. Over the last few weeks we’ve all gotten so close to each other.
There will always be four people that I will remember. I met them all on this trip and each one touched my heart. They are Gabi Fratta, Dana Lowell, Brandon Jordan, and Jessie Caron. Those four are most of the reasons why I got through the trip.
All of us have bonded by doing things together like helping one another up the mountains or just cheering each other up when one of us was homesick. It has been a tough road to travel, but we’ve all gotten through it together. We’ve done so much in the last three weeks. We’ve run races together, put up tents together, cheered together, and so much more. Together we survived Alaska, and that is what I will always remember about my AGLP experience…my new family away from home.
