Alaska Is:

Alaska is…
… A land of awesome mountains,
Fjords, lakes, rivers, streams.
We’ve come for a visit
To see, enjoy, make dreams.

… An ideal of vast open space,
Rugged wilderness, last frontier.
And all the necessities, stores,
McDonald’s, Taco Bells near.

… A time to learn more
About our van family.
That schedules are flexible
And we, too, can be.

… Where we learn what we are made of
And to help others to not fall.
Where the great pirate Ishtar
Watches over us all.

Final Reflection:
        This adventure to Alaska has been an adventure of many new things. To me, the greatest of these is meeting and getting to know many of the participants also on this adventure. This group of young people has taken on tasks and challenges to prove their leadership abilities. It has been great to watch these kids grow.
