Alaska Is:
Alaska is…free. When you are in Alaska, it feels like you can do anything. When you look out in the distance, it seems like the mountains go on forever and that there’s nothing holding you back from discovering a new place or even a new you.

Final Reflection:
I never realized how much I really loved Alaska until last year when it was time for everyone to depart, and I wasn’t going with him or her. At that moment, I decided to apply to go back as a junior leader!
I wanted to come back not only to wake up and see beautiful mountains, or see a moose while driving down the street, but to create new memories and friendships. I also wanted to further develop my leadership and teamwork skills.
Alaska is the best spot to experience new things and accomplish tasks you probably didn’t think you could accomplish. It’s also an awesome place to learn more about who you are.
Looking back at the past three weeks, I feel so lucky to have hiked to the top of two mountains, seen whales fluke on an all-day whale watch, visit one of America’s National Parks, and just being able to sit in a grassy meadow looking out over the water and reflecting mountains. Alaska is such a beautiful place and I am thankful that I got to experience it with a great group of people (for a second time)!
