Alaska Is:
Alaska is unexplainable. When
people describe Alaska to you, you can only imagine the little beauties; the
beautiful trees, the amazing flowers, and the mighty mountains. Until you get
here, you only have broken pictures in your mind. When you do get here, all the
missing elements get put together. Alaska is the most amazing place I’ve
ever been, and always has a special place in my heart.
Final Reflection:
For a second year in a row, this
trip was a growing experience. Not only mentally but also emotionally. This trip
did not start out easy. First off, one of the girls in my van and I didn’t
get along at all. When we got here, things were still on edge with us. By getting
to know her, I learned what an amazing person she is. I learned that you sometimes
have to give people a second chance and that when you do, you can love that person.
I would like to personally thank Anna Eshuis for giving me a second chance and
letting me love you as a brilliant young woman.
As a junior leader, you have responsibilities. One of those responsibilities
is to connect with the participants. Bonding with this group of kids was not
hard. These kids were some of the most genuine people I have ever met. When I
think about the impact they have all had on my life, it’s amazing. I want
them all to know that they have a special place in my heart. I love you and thank
you for the awesome memories. Alaska is my second home and a friend. I have made
amazing memories with Alaska and will never ever forget them.
