Alaska Is...
more than just as place to visit. It’s a part of us, it’s in the heart of us, it’s under our skin for all time.
Final Reflections
The AGLP 2007 trip was a bountiful harvest of reflections. All together they formed the shape of a unique and wonderful experience that only happens once and will never happen again with the same people in the same way. Here are a few of those reflections:
Hidden lakes and smooth beaver ponds, reflecting majestic mountains and pillow-soft clouds.
Happy ad excited faces reflecting the feeling of triumph upon reaching the top of Exit Glacier and Mt. Healy, the struggle to get there quickly forgotten.
Wildlife roaming freely in their natural environment in Denali National Park reflecting the foresight and commitment of a few people who could see the treasure and strove to preserve it for all time.
Moments of pleasant surprise reflecting the discovery that hey, we do like fish after all—especially wild Alaskan salmon and halibut.
Expressions of awe reflecting amazingly close encounters with humpback whales, porpoises, sea otters, and other ocean life reminding each that the world does not revolve around us, but we must respect our natural world and do what we can to minimize our impact on the natural order of things.
Smiling and laughing people reflecting the great time we had together, learning, exploring, sharing, and growing in Alaska. |
