       my refuge from a fast-paced society. It serves as a reminder of the infinite possibilities present in everyday life. It is unadultered beauty, peace, and harmony.

Final Reflections

       The first word that comes to my mind when I think about my experiences in Alaska this year is ethereal. This trip has reminded me of how vast and open the world is. It was a necessary reminder that I am in control of my life, and that no matter what happens with college and my future, there are always different paths to take. When traveling in AK, one is normally told to stick to the path so as not to disturb anything. In my case this seems ironic, because the trip this year has reminded me that this is not always the case, and that sometimes it is necessary to wander off the path to find yourself. I find myself in wonder at this revelation. If someone had told me that AK would have affected me this way before I left, I would have laughed. Now, I can only revel in my new fond self-awareness.
