Alaska Is...

more than just a place, it’s a feeling. When I think of Alaska, I picture the vastness and beauty and wonder. When I think of Alaska, I also feel a sense of happiness, calm and peace. Alaska is an experience that could never be forgotten. I don’t think anyone can put into words what Alaska really is. I think everyone needs to come here to take in this experience for themselves to see and feel the magic of this land.

Final Reflections

Who can really put into words the magnitude with which Alaska becomes part of your life? For me Alaska is now part of who I am and won’t ever go away! Alaska is like the wind; sometimes I feel it so strongly and other times it’s not as strong but is still always there for me to feel.
This was my second year in Alaska and was even better than the first. I was able to take in a lot more and really see and feel Alaska. I knew the routine and expectations and worried less about getting lost and more about taking and breathing everything in! I met new friends and became closer to old ones. I bonded with my van and love every one of them. One this trip, I saw things I’ve never seen before like a lynx, red fox, a wolf, and more importantly, Denali! I did things I’ve never done before like clamming and watching kids who never thought they could make it up a mountain make it up and lead the way! I love seeing people grow and this trip really shows it! Every year I come here. I leave a part of myself and take something in return. Alaska, and this experience, will always be with me, in my heart, in my mind and my soul.
