Alaska Is...

one of the greatest times of my life. In the past 11 days I have done more things then most 15 year old kids have done in their entire life. I climbed a glacier and gone down its snow without a sled. I’ve seen 4ft, 100lbs and I’ve seen the world from 2,500 ft above the sea. I’ve seen bears, moose, eagles, sea otters, and other great animals. I’ve walked over two to three miles on hikes and I’ve run a 10k. I saw the Alaskan pipeline, I’ve caught 2ft salmon with my bare hands, and I went on a boat ride where I saw seabirds and marine animals. Some of the adults on this trip haven’t even done half of the things I have on this trip.

Final Reflections

Alaska is way different than I thought it would have been. I thought it would be cool but I wasn’t prepared for the breathtaking mountains, and there are thousands of these amazing mountains. Every mile we traveled we saw new ones, each better or ore majestic than the last. I saw hundreds of mountains each day and not a one of them got old in even the slightest way. And that’s not even all of the scenery not the towering trees, the beautiful water or brilliant sky. Which most of I couldn’t even begin to describe its beauty. The wildlife is also amazing, from the magnificent moose to the scurrying ground squirrels. Every single last one is beautiful in its own unique way. But all in all Alaska is too beautiful to put in physical words that do it justice. It’s that amazing, and I wasn’t just viewing the spectacular sights I was living them. Instead of seeing or hearing these things from afar I could touch and smell them also. Not many people get to scale mountains, see pristine scenery and watch wild moose, bear, whales, and caribou in their natural habitat. These are a few of the reasons why I am thankful for being chosen for this awesome trip.
