Alaska Is...

       more than just as place to go on vacation; it’s a place of beauty
       of tranquility
       of self-reliance
       of growth
       of clarity
       of uncertainty
       of awe
       I can never pick just one thing to say about Alaska. It is pure simple amazement. Alaska is something that I will never forget, and it has changed me forever.

Final Reflections

        When I’m a zillion years old and I look back at my life, Alaska will be that one memory I could never fully describe. It has changed me up, down and all around. When I’m looking back, I am going to lose my eyes and remember feeling the cold ocean water splash my face as a whale breaches through mirror-like water and hearing voices scream “oh my gosh!;” sweating so much my jeans were sticking to my thighs as I took that last step to get to the top of Mount Healy; embracing the person that I would’ve never hugged at school; realizing that responsibility is no longer a burden, but a part of growing up. So when I’m a zillion years old and I look back at my life, I’m going to close my eyes and remember that one memory I could never fully describe.
