Love Is In Your DNA

“Homer is definitely my favorite place in Alaska.”
This is what Della Swartz, a middle-aged, brown eyed, brown haired lady thinks of Homer, Alaska, and that is a statement that many of the people in the Alaska Great Lakes Project strongly agree with. Della has lived in Alaska for four years, and is currently staying at Seaside Farms, a beautiful camping ground in Homer. She moved from her home in Seattle, Washington to Alaska because she has family up here. In fact, her husband is originally from Fairbanks. Della’s favorite things about Alaska are, “the wildness of it, and the ability to get very remote.” This is completely different from her previous home in urban Seattle. She also likes to be near the ocean.
For fun, Della likes to camp at Tangle Lakes, Nancy Lake, and around Fairbanks. Della also likes hiking at Eagle River Nature center. Della has been to Dead Horse as well. “Dead horse is very interesting. It’s so far north and it’s all tundra. It’s completely different from anywhere else,” Della said.
Della is completely enjoying Alaska. Alaska is, “definitely where I want to stay permanently,” Della said. The only thing Della misses about Seattle is all of her family that still resides there. This makes Della a perfect example of the fact that no matter how beautiful something is, and no matter how much you enjoy it, it can never replace the love that you have for your family.
