Alaska Is...

Alaska is a place that you can’t describe in words.

Final Reflections

As I look back on what I had seen, done, or learned before I came to Alaska, it wasn’t much.  I figured that I had done close to everything, but honestly there is nothing that compares to spending three weeks in one of the most interesting and beautiful places on the earth.  Alaska has taught me about myself and others, as well as giving me some of the most rewarding and memorable experiences I will ever have.  For me Alaska was the perfect opportunity to open my true self to others.  I saw people in a different way.  Here, there are no added pressures of friends and status, everyone was more relaxed and not so caught up in stupid drama.  At school people get into the horrible habit of stereotyping and having only a handful of close friends.  On this trip I have learned that even if you aren’t the best of friends, everyone has something good to offer.  If it is as big as sharing all of your interests or as small as an acutance cheering you on when your climbing a mountain.  If you want to stop and pay attention to what they have to say, you will find a great person.  Alaska is amazing and I can see why people keep coming back.  Hopefully I’ll be lucky enough to come back too.  It’s an experience you can’t pass up.
