Elizabeth Anne Smith

Elizabeth Anne Smith, seventh time AGLP traveler began her journeys to Alaska after graduating high school. “I first heard about the trips from Richie (also an AGLP traveler). I was really good friends with Richie in high school. He showed me a bunch of pictures and I started to get really excited about Alaska. After a lot of begging, Ishtar finally let me go.” After her first Alaskan experience, Liz had to go back for more.
“ What I like most about Alaska is being around all the people,” Liz explained. Being an only child, she likes the commotion of the place. From being a participant to her current position as a van driver, Liz loves being apart of this great experience. “ My favorite place to stay is Homer because of all the scenery and there are a lot of things to do.”  When I asked Liz what her favorite thing we do is, she replied that she enjoys eating the Halibut. ”I like to eat the Halibut every chance I get.” She also told me that she likes to go on the hike up Exit Glacier and the bus tour of Denali National Park. “I have seen grizzly bears doing everything you can imagine. I love to see all of the wildlife.” Liz also enjoys the whale watch. “Whales are my favorite animals to see in Alaska.”
Liz has taken something new from each of the trips she has participated in. For Liz, this is not going to be her last time in Alaska. Both being a participant and a van driver Liz has had amazing adventures. Hopefully with many more to come.
