The Mountainous Journey Through Alaska
A Series of Tales by Nick Bolger Part 2

As we are sitting in the airport, I began to ask Nick Bolger a few things about Alaska.  We have noisy Alaska participants all around us, so it is very hard to hear. However, I got the real story that Nick has, and found out how he is feeling about Alaska at this point.
Nick is a 14 year old boy from Marshall, MI and he is on his way to Alaska for 3 weeks.  He says, “I am really looking forward to seeing the wildlife!”  Nick is really excited about going on the all day whale watch.
When I asked Nick about leaving this morning he said, “I am not really nervous.”  He says that he will feel very comfortable because he has a lot of friends on the trip.  Nick told me that overall, he wasn’t too sad about leaving home because he has done it many times before.
Nick is really looking forward to everything.  He says this is really going to be a good adventure and experience for him.  “The only thing that I am not looking forward to is doing the dishes.” Too bad for Nick though, because it sounds like everyone will have to do the dishes.

In the end, Nick can’t wait to get to Alaska!  He is ready for this adventure!  Yes, he is going to miss his family, but he will be alright.  Nick says “I will be sending postcards home to my family!”  If Nick really enjoys this trip he might come back as a junior leader!
