Alaska Is...

 Alaska is: pure

There is a pureness to Alaska that lends clarity of mind and spirit
You must grow the confidence to be alone, while acquiring the humbleness that we cannot exist without each other.

Sometimes we are sunshine
Sometimes we are cloud
Sometimes we are quiet
Sometimes we are loud

We are busily doing the things we must
Testing our limits and learning to trust

Sometimes with tears
Sometimes with pleasure
We gather each minute
As part of our treasure

Each day is a gift
We open with glee
An adventure to live, and to love and to BE!

Final Reflections

            Alaska is magnificent.  There is life and activity all around, but it also possesses incredible serenity.  The colors seem more vibrant, the air and water pure, the mountains majestic.
            Standing in the rush of a river or at the top of a mountain awakens all the senses at once.  Alaska then becomes a part of you.
            There were times when the effects of development on the land saddened me.  But most times I was inspired by the efforts of those trying to protect it.
            Every participant in AGLP—students, junior leaders and adults-- has been changed by their journey.
            AGLP is the gift of a lifetime!
