Alaska Is...

Alaska is…the sweet smell of nature surrounding me, the gorgeous mountains towering over me, beautiful animals diving in and out of the water, the pitter patter of little ground squirrels following close by, the cold Alaskan air moving through my hair.  It’s the sound of waterfalls and streams moving about, it’s hikers hiking up mountains, fishermen yelling “Fish on” and reeling in huge fish.  It is the ocean water crashing up against rocks, and otters playing in the water.  It’s an opportunity of a lifetime.  It’s amazing.  It’s beautiful.  It’s peaceful.  It is Alaska.

Final Reflections

My trip to Alaska has been one of the most amazing experiences.  There are so many things I will never forget about Alaska.  I will never forget how beautiful it is here.  I will never forget how close I got to the participants and leaders on this trip.  I will never forget the feeling I had the first time I saw the beauty of the mountains and nature.  I will never forget how everyone was always helping one another out.  And I will never forget how much Mr. Rosene did to make the trip possible.
There are so many things I have learned on this trip.  I have learned how to be away from hoe for a while, I’ve learned how to find something good in everyone, how to take two minute showers, and that being organized is really helpful.  Not knowing what’s going on at home helps us have a better time, because you aren’t concentrated on home, you’re concentrated on what’s going on here.
I have really enjoyed my trip to Alaska.  I’ve gotten very close to everyone on the trip.  I’ve seen lots of things I have never seen.  We have all grown, and learned lots together, and sadly our time in Alaska is over for now.  But hopefully we will have another great opportunity to come back.
