Alaska Is...

Alaska is…more than a destination, it’s a journey.  The journey is the people you meet, the things you do and the places you see.  But ultimately, Alaska is how you find yourself, not how you find your friends or run from your enemies.  It’s about you.  Alaska is a way to live by, it’s moose and mountains, but also people and places.  It’s what you make it, the rewards you get are only equal to the effort you put in.  It can’t be given to you, you can’t be forced into it, someone else can’t want it for you.  In the end it’s about being selfish and giving at the same time.  Alaska is the most beautiful place in the world.

Final Reflections

The things that I remember most are the things that are different.  Things like having a snowball fight in July, or dunking my head in a river.  On this trip I have done things that on most occasions I would consider stupid, but here I did those things, and it was fun.  It felt like I was living, which was something that is not new, but this time was different.  This gave me a thought, that in our every day lives we forget to have fun and do something for no other reason than, “Because we can,” and ask the question, “Why not?”
