Alaska Is...

Alaska is pushing yourself up to the top of a mountain. It’s forcing yourself to climb because you know when you get to the top, the amazing view will take over, making every hard step while climbing worth it. Alaska is learning. Learning about nature, the mountains, and the animals. More importantly, it’s learning about yourself. I’ve learned that my limits can be pushed; my ability can be stretched if I set my mind to it. I’ve learned that teamwork is the key to success. Finally, Alaska is never having to say I should have.

Final Reflections

When I think about the past few weeks I’ve spent in Alaska, a few things stick out more than others. Three weeks in a cold smelly tent, no home cooked meals, and no bed aren’t the things coming to mind. The goods in the trip are what shine through. Seeing about 7 breeching whales in a row is purely amazing. How about the view? You look around and oceans, mountains, and the big blue sky surround you. I think of the motivation I had to climb up a mountain. I mostly tend to think about my favorite part on the trip, Denali Grizzly Bear. I loved to sit with friends; talking and trying to skip rocks in the river. I love every inch of that river and the trees and rocks around it. No matter how I think of this trip, negative or positive, I will never forget it.
