Alaska Is...Alaska is ever changing, always growing. Ancient. Unexpected. It brings out the awe that makes us feel small, and the adventure and curiosity that we never knew was within us. In Alaska dreams expand, and goals reach ever higher. We discover that we can do things we never imagined and enjoy things that were never thought to be fun. I’m thankful for everything this great state has brought me, whether it be new friends, new sights, or just a view I never imagined. Alaska is…a discovery. Final ReflectionsI might not ever come back to this place. Sure, I’m going to try my hardest to come back on this trip, but there is always a chance I won’t. You may call me a pessimist, but for me, it just means that I want to absorb these last few hours like a sponge, so I can travel back here whenever I want. You see, Alaska is everything. Not only has it given me confidence, friends, and opportunities, this trip has given me a base. From here, I can keep climbing. Literally. This trip made me fall in love with hiking, and I cant imagine my future without it. I want to explore, to see new places. There are so many mountains yet to climb. but this means I must kiss AGLP goodbye for a while. It breaks my heart, but this trip will always stay with me, and who knows, maybe Alaska will draw me in, like a fly to a spider web, once again. |
