Alaska Is...

Alaska is the last frontier, full of fresh air, great scenery, and lots of opportunity to explore. To me it's an outdoors mans paradise. It's a place to get away from the business of life to sit back and move at the pace of nature. It is a place to grow and develop and to find oneself. Alaska is always changing with a new adventure around every bend for one to explore.

Final Reflections

Well our trip has come to an end we have packed our bags, returned the vans, and are waiting for the bus to take us to the airport. As I look back on this trip I see the beauty of this state from the mountains in the north to the sea in the south. I have so many pictures to look at to remind me of this trip and the friendships I have made and the things that I have learned. The best pictures are going to stay with me in my head. This trip has been really great. I have watched so many kids grow and overcome challenges from climbing two mountains, to doing their own laundry, and cooking. Personally for me the best memory is spending the past three weeks with my father. The best memory for me is that I got to enjoy one of his passions by coming here and spending time together, taking time off of my busy life to sit back and enjoy this beautiful state of Alaska with my dad and 70 other people. I have enjoyed all of this trip from the hikes up Mount Healy and Exit Glacier with the most breathtaking views my pictures will not even do justice but they will trigger my memory back to that day. As we leave and go back to the busy days of life I will always remember the words the ranger said in Denali, ˆ¨Take the time to move at the speed of nature, sit back and enjoy what is around you.ˆÆ I think that says it best when we get back to our busy lives we just need to think, to slow down, and to move at the speed of nature.
